Inkjet printer technology has improved enormously in recent years, and most modern inkjet printers are able to produce fantastic prints with custom-made profiles.

Unfortunately, most of the standard profiles that come with inkjet printers don't always produce results that are acceptable for the enthusiast or professional. This is due to differences in paper/ink combinations, and environmental factors such as humidity.

Creating a custom profile for each paper type you use will ensure accurate results, and completely removes the need to 'tweak' an image to try and pre-adjust what your printer is going to do to your image. It should also be noted that custom profiles are an absolute essential when using third-party inks or papers.

How do I get my own custom profiles?

A printer profile is created by printing out an image that contains a group of coloured squares (patches). This must be left to dry thouroughly, and then read by software using a spectrophotometer. This software then uses the data it has scanned and compares it to what it should have been. An ICC profile is generated that will instruct your system (Mac/PC) do this conversion for you each time you press print.

To get you own profiles made, simply login to your account and click on the 'ICC Profiles' button. This will take you to a step-by-step process where you can download the profile targets (the image you need to print) and learn about printing them correctly.

You then send us the printed targets and within just a few hours of them arriving, we will email you to let you know that your profiles are ready for download from the ICC Profiles section of your account

How much do they cost?

If we consider how much money these will save on accurate prints, they do not cost much at all! The latest Epson printers cost approximately £2.00 for an A4 print. Imagine how many of these you have discarded over time!

We offer two types of profile:
Standard - £12.50 per profile: These profiles use 1 image (288 colour patches) to create an accurate profile that will really help you get the most out of your device.

Advanced - £20.00 per profile: These profiles use 2 images (918 colour patches) to create very accurate profiles. If you are using a printer with more than 6 inks, this profile will really help you to produce prints with excellent shadow and highlight details.
